Welcome to the Lubavitch Homeschool Umbrella Group (LHUG)
Whether you’ve already chosen to homeschool or you’re still exploring your options, we encourage you to sign up so you have support and documentation in place during any period when your child isn’t enrolled in a school. It’s a simple way to stay covered while you decide what’s best for your family.
Ready to sign-up for homeschooling and register with Us? Great! It’s just 3 easy steps.
1) Send in your completed City/County Notification Form. You’ll find instructions on where to submit it under “Files and Forms”. This step registers your child with your local educational jurisdiction and provides the legal documentation needed to recognize them as a homeschooler for the school year. You only need to file this once per child—unless you move or your educational situation changes.
2) Send us your filled-out LHUG Application Form, if you want LHUG to be your proxy/liaison and handle the ‘review process’ instead of the city or county. We’ve been told our requirements and process are much more relaxed, family-friendly, and takes a lot of the pain and stress of documenting your child(ren) curriculum to the state.
3) Pay the family membership fee of $50 per year. Forms are normally due by 15 days before public schools begin their year (15 days prior to starting your homeschooling) However, the cut-off dates are not set in stone, and we often get allowances for late-comers, just contact us and do it as soon as reasonably possible. We will work it out.If your child becomes enrolled in another school at some point later this year, that is totally fine. The new school will notify your city or county of the new registration.
Connecting into the group offers you continuous valuable resources, a place to ask your questions, get guidance and know what social, academic, or extracurricular activities are happening in your area, or to offer to start one. Our main channels of communication are via our Whatsapp Groups, The Primary sub-group is ‘Homeschooling Heroes’ WhatsApp group.
